Twila Lavender, RCC


Twila Lavender is a Registered Clinical Counsellor who has spent years studying to broaden her knowledge and understanding in the area of mental health and substance use. She works with youth, adults and couples and uses a variety of approaches in her practice, including Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Response-Based Therapy (RBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Brief-Therapy (SFBT), Trauma Informed Practice, Narrative Therapy and Mindfulness-based techniques. She has worked with clients dealing with issues such as grief and loss, depression and anxiety, substance use, trauma, sexual orientation and gender identity, and relationship challenges. The questions she asks during her sessions and the perspectives she provides are intended to support her clients’ growth and improve their mental wellness.

Twila is especially proud to be an ally of the LGBTQ2S+ community and provides a warm and respectful environment for her sessions. She has experience supporting clients who are questioning their gender identity, or have decided to transition and are seeking clinical support as part of the process.
