Dawn Sather is a Registered Social Worker with 25 years of clinical experience. Currently offering in-person, phone, and video counselling, for adults struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, and trauma. Dawn’s gentle presence welcomes those wanting to work in a collaborative, and reflective process. Together, challenges are explored to bring more ease and vitality. Her private practice office is located in the heart of Oak Bay Village, in beautiful Victoria, BC.

Dawn’s clinical practice is oriented towards assisting individuals by providing a non-judgmental, and respectful relational environment and to explore past experiences that are too overwhelming when faced alone. This includes experiences that may be painful, confusing, unresolved, and traumatic. Dawn has expertise in Somatic Attachment Psychotherapy. This approach, Bringing the Body into Practice (BBP), is informed by trauma, attachment, poly vagal, neuroscience, psychodynamic, and psychoanalytic theory. Developing a client-centered therapeutic relationship, founded on trust and safety, has the potential to foster change and transformation.

Dawn obtained her Master of Social Work from the University of Northern British Columbia. Always committed to her professional development, Dawn has taken a myriad of post-graduate certificate courses and continues her learning with the Object Relations Institute in New York. As a social worker, Dawn upholds the values of respect, equality, and compassion.

Dawn was born and raised in beautiful British Columbia. She has rich life experiences and cherishes her roles as mother, and grandmother.  In her leisure time, Dawn enjoys socializing, walking, swimming, and cycling.
