Elena Schuller is a very experienced counsellor providing online counselling for individuals, couples and families. She holds a Master of Social Work Degree (MSW) from Dalhousie University and is a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with British College of Social Workers. Elena helps clients manage anxiety and stress, anger management, and work-related issues, to name a few. She uses a variety of approaches to achieve effective results for her clients including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Strength-Based and Solution Focused Therapy.
Elena provides relationship counselling for couples facing a wide range of challenges and uses her training from the Gottman Institute to help them improve their communication, reconnect with each other and better manage the conflict in their lives. She also works with parents who are facing parenting issues/concerns, including parent-teen struggles, school-based concerns (such as academic and behaviour issues) and ways to manage the daily challenges in the busy lives of families. She also has expertise in working with children, youth and adults with histories of attachment difficulties.
Elena has experience working with clients who have complex histories of trauma and abuse. She works with them to address their mental health concerns which can manifest in feelings of anxiety, depression, low energy, difficulty managing stress, changes in mood, and ongoing sleeping problems. Elena knows that working with a counsellor about one’s personal experiences can be difficult. She provides a safe and welcoming therapy environment using a non-judgmental approach so that clients feel safe and heard. Her hours of availability include daytime and evening hours.
