Hoda Samadi is a Registered Clinical Counsellor located in Coquitlam, BC. He provides online counselling via phone or video for children, youth, couples and individuals, including the elderly. His expertise includes anxiety, trauma, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), depression and sleep disturbances. He uses a variety of approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Play Therapy for children, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD and Behavioural Activation for depression depending on what may work best for his client.
He has devoted much of his life to examining psychological and human phenomena that help guide others towards their journey to achieving their fullest potential. He is concerned for the mental well-being and welfare of others by promoting psychoeducation and exploring a full range of factors that contribute to an individual’s success in overcoming their life’s limitations and challenges. Hoda ensures that his approach is individually tailored so that the unique needs of his clients are met through evidence-based practices.
Hoda holds a master’s degree in psychology from Carlos Albizu University where he studied clinical psychology with a concentration in child psychology. He is currently completing a doctorate in psychology at the University of Northern British Columbia where he is conducting research on complex trauma. In his spare time, he is a part-time college instructor at the College of New Caledonia where he takes pride in teaching students entry level courses on the introduction to psychology and abnormal psychology.
