Jill Herauf is a Registered Clinical Counsellor and Certified Canadian Counsellor located in Vancouver, providing in-person counselling. She supports people dealing with issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, sleep disturbances/insomnia, addictions, self-esteem, and life transitions. She is curious about how your past has shaped your present and views therapy as an opportunity to try out new ways of thinking, behaving, and relating.

Jill’s approach is holistic, integrative, and focused on developing insight, healing trauma, and reducing suffering. Because each person is unique, she tailors her approach based on her client’s goals, interests, and personality – drawing on tools like mindfulness skills and somatic techniques, and interventions from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT).

Working collaboratively, she helps clients tap into their strengths to identify opportunities for growth and challenge distorted self-views and unhelpful patterns. She supports her clients in reaching their healing goals not by encouraging them to do more or be more, but by encouraging them to slow down and look at what’s working and what’s not. By getting extremely clear on what works for us, we can begin to let go of the things that are holding us back. Jill prioritizes creating a compassionate, warm, non-judgmental space where both she and her clients can be their real selves.
