Kimberly van de Graaf is a Registered Clinical Counsellor in Victoria, British Columbia. She provides counselling via phone or video. Kim’s special area of expertise is seniors and their care providers, drawing on over a decade of experience working in long-term care, assisted living, and independent living. She also helps the general population with anxiety and stress, loneliness/isolation, depression, career/personal life transitions, low self-esteem, addictions, and grief and loss.
Kim is skilled in a variety of counselling approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, & Solution-Focused Brief Therapy. She incorporates psycho-education, mindfulness -based tools and therapeutic art activities into her practice, depending on individual needs and preferences.
Kim creates a trusting therapeutic relationship, providing her clients with a safe space without judgement in which they can focus and work towards their best life.
In addition to her private practice, Kim works as an emergency response team coordinator and intake counsellor for an employee family assistance program. She handles crisis calls, conducts risk assessments, and supports people in their journey to stay at or return to work.
Kim has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, a Master’s of Education in Counselling Psychology, and is Registered with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC).
