Kristina Dixon is a Registered Clinical Counsellor based in Vancouver, with an office on West Broadway. Kristina works with children (from early years through late adolescence), families, and individuals. Her expertise includes transitions (work, life and family), stress, trauma, anxiety, substance use/addiction, mental health concerns including anxiety and depression, relationships (family, friendships and work), family life, life transitions, divorce, parenting, and finding emotional well-being.
Kristina’s passion is working with individuals, children and families to discover their inner strengths and capacities. She supports clients to develop skills that can create lasting, positive change. Kristina uses individually tailored approaches that may include play-based, trauma informed, attachment, family systems and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. She works with children and parents either individually or as family groups. When she works with young children, Kristina provides regular consultations with parents.
Kristina’s education includes a BA in Child & Youth Care, with a focus on stages of development, and an MA in Counselling, with a focus on attachment and family systems. She has over 20 years experience in working as a mental health professional in a range of community and clinical settings including community mental health agencies, private practice, and hospitals. In these she works with children, youth, and families who experience parental mental health concerns and addiction.
