Michael (he/him) is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) living in Vancouver BC, currently offering remote counselling services by secure online video, or telephone. Michael believes that connecting with a counsellor can be a brave step towards supporting oneself, and operates with great appreciation and reverence for those embarking on this process. His approach sees the client as the expert in their own life, and seeks to build understanding in a safe and collaborative environment.
Michael’s practice supports those who may be interested in exploring questions related to identity, interpersonal relationships, as well as concerns around stress and anxiety, grief and loss, depression, life transitions, and cultivating meaning. He believes that working towards being connected with oneself is a form of healing that can illuminate and bring clarity to the process of aligning with our potential. This includes considering the mind, body and spirit as relevant in our journey towards well-being. He believes in the value of providing a safe space to bring attention to this process as it is not always possible to initiate or maintain conversations of this nature with the people in our lives.
Michael’s approach is fundamentally Rogerian. His practice is trauma-informed and draws from cognitive behaviour therapy, mindful self-compassion, and emotion focused strategies as the building blocks that support a client’s skills and development.
