Lisa Kratz Joins Waypoint’s Victoria Team!
Lisa Kratz has joined Waypoint’s Victoria team of counsellors!
Lisa will start providing counselling services with Waypoint in mid-August in her ocean-view office.
Clients will find Lisa to be warmly dynamic, personable, and engaging. Lisa Kratz’s counselling style is thoughtful, practical, and helpful. Lisa has a master’s degree in counselling, a bachelor’s degree in communication, and has completed extensive additional training in EMDR and Response-Based Practice.
Lisa has extensive training in relationship and marriage counselling. Lisa is the founder of Great Marriages.ca and is available for group training on communication and how to improve intimate relationships. She has training in the Gottman Institute Couples Therapy which is based on over forty years of scientific research. She is now a qualified Gottman Therapist . She also has training in PREP which is a proven-effective skills-based relationship therapy.
Lisa and her husband are celebrating their twenty-seventh anniversary this year, and they have two children aged twenty and eighteen years old. They also have a seven-year-old Goldendoodle dog. Lisa has had a lot of experience working with teenagers, student-athletes, and young adults. Her knowledge as a parent and a spouse adds to her understanding of relationship dynamics. She has a relatable solution-focused approach and uses a variety of therapies to assist her clients with loss, trauma, grief, communication, relationships, unhappiness, symptoms of anxiety, and career/life issues. She is a counsellor, coach, trainer, and educator. Through resourcing, and building connections and community, Lisa aims to have each client leave their sessions with a sense of hope and optimism about their relationship with themselves and with others.
Lisa is service orientated and enjoys volunteering at Citizens’ Counselling Centre in Victoria. At Citizens’ Lisa regularly co-facilitates self-esteem groups and this fall, she is co-facilitating a shame and resiliency group, created by Dr Brene Brown. She also meets with individuals and couples at the centre.
Lisa meets with clients in a private garden-level office centrally and conveniently located in Victoria. There is ample parking, and it is a safe and comfortable environment. She is grateful to be a counsellor and to be able to walk alongside her clients and support them on their journey.
