Akash Vig
, MA, RCCRegistered Clinical Counsellor
I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor in Vancouver, BC, with nearly a decade of experience supporting individuals, couples, families, and groups. I work with clients navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, addictions, anger, ADHD, grief and loss, relationship challenges, self-esteem, parenting, workplace concerns, and life transitions.
My approach is client-centred, compassionate, and tailored to each person’s unique needs. I draw from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), EMDR, Solution-Focused Therapy, the Gottman Method, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Somatic Therapy, Mindfulness, Narrative Therapy, Attachment Therapy, and other evidence-based approaches. I believe meaningful growth can take place when clients feel genuinely heard, supported, and safe within the therapeutic relationship.
I have extensive experience working with couples and assisting them to develop healthier communication. I am trained in the Gottman Couples Method which is a well researched approach.
My experience spans hospitals, schools, community programs, and private practice. I have facilitated anger management groups for men and enjoy working with clients in individual, couples, family, and group settings. Whether you are looking to develop greater insight, work toward specific goals, or navigate a challenging period in your life or relationships, I aim to provide a supportive and collaborative space where we can work together toward meaningful change.
