Celia Du
, MC, RCCRegistered Clinical Counsellor
Celia (Xiaojun) Du is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) based in Vancouver, BC, offering individual, couples, and family counselling both in person and online. If you feel stuck—either on your own or in a relationship—and feel that change could be helpful, Celia is there to support you in finding a way forward. She is committed to supporting clients who are experiencing depression, anxiety, long-term mental health challenges, and relationship difficulties.
Her work is grounded in a person-centred approach, recognizing that you are the expert in your own experience. She draws on several evidence-based counselling approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), and attachment-informed therapy. These approaches help clients better understand patterns, strengthen emotional awareness, and develop practical tools for meaningful change.
Celia is a very experienced couples counsellor and has worked with many couples to work through past issues or unhelpful patterns while building healthier communication so they can better understand each other and strengthen their relationship. She has training in the Gottman Method for Couples Therapy which is a well researched approach.
Celia grew up in China and speaks both English and Mandarin. She is sensitive to the ways culture, family expectations, and multicultural identities can shape our experiences, and has experience supporting clients in navigating these complexities.
Outside of counseling, one of her hobbies is knitting. She often uses the metaphor of yarn to describe therapy. “Each of us carries many threads—our stories, relationships, past experiences, and present challenges—and sometimes they become tangled. Together, we can gently untangle these threads, sort through the past, focus on the present, and move forward with greater clarity, one stitch at a time.”
Before becoming a counsellor, Celia worked as an accountant and is also a parent to a young adult son and a teenage daughter. She brings compassion, empathy, life experience, and clinical training to her work.
