Jonathan Watters is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) offering online and in-person individual and couples counselling in Victoria, BC. he helps clients with issues associated with depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, phobias, goal setting, goal striving, problematic habits and behaviours, trauma impact (PTSD), and more.
Jonathan uses a biopsychosocial approach to counselling, meaning he considers biological, emotional, mental, physical, and social aspects of life when exploring well-being and psychological issues. He sees counselling as a collaboration between the person and their therapist. When working with Jonathan, he works to create a better version of yourself, based on your priorities and at your pace.
When working with issues related to trauma, Jonathan focuses on first developing skills for self-care and creating and strengthening support systems around you. Once stabilizing skills are in place, a few approaches and techniques to work through trauma may include Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE).
Jonathan uses a Solution-Focused approach. This means efforts are tailored to finding solutions that are practical, realistic and attainable for you.
